The Guru, my friend, has told me the stories and the sermon of the Lord. I am a sacrifice to my Guru; to the Guru, I am a sacrifice. || 1 || Come, join with me, O Sikh of the Guru, come and join with me. You are my Guru’s Beloved. || Pause || The Glorious Praises of the Lord are pleasing to the Lord; I have obtained them from the Guru. I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to those who surrender to, and obey the Guru’s Will. || 2 || I am dedicated and devoted to those who gaze upon the Beloved True Guru. I am forever a sacrifice to those who perform service for the Guru. || 3 || Your Name, O Lord, Har, Har, is the Destroyer of sorrow. Serving the Guru, it is obtained, and as Gurmukh, one is emancipated. || 4 || Those humble beings who meditate on the Lord’s Name, are celebrated and acclaimed. Nanak is a sacrifice to them, forever and ever a devoted sacrifice. || 5 || O Lord, that alone is Praise to You, which is pleasing to Your Will, O Lord God. Those Gurmukhs, who serve their Beloved Lord, obtain Him as their reward. || 6 || Those who cherish love for the Lord, their souls are always with God. Chanting and meditating on their Beloved, they live in, and gather in, the Lord’s Name. || 7 || I am a sacrifice to those Gurmukhs who serve their Beloved Lord. They themselves are saved, along with their families, and through them, all the world is saved. || 8 || My Beloved Guru serves the Lord. Blessed is the Guru, Blessed is the Guru. The Guru has shown me the Lord’s Path; the Guru has done the greatest good deed. || 9 || Those Sikhs of the Guru, who serve the Guru, are the most blessed beings. Servant Nanak is a sacrifice to them; He is forever and ever a sacrifice. || 10 || The Lord Himself is pleased with the Gurmukhs, the fellowship of the companions. In the Lord’s Court, they are given robes of honor, and the Lord Himself hugs them close in His embrace. || 11 || Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of those Gurmukhs, who meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. I wash their feet, and drink in the dust of their feet, dissolved in the wash water. || 12 || Those who eat betel nuts and betel leaf and apply lipstick, but do not contemplate the Lord, Har, Har — the Messenger of Death will seize them and take them away. || 13 || The Messenger of Death does not even approach those who contemplate the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and keep Him enshrined in their hearts. The Guru’s Sikhs are the Guru’s Beloveds. || 14 || The Name of the Lord is a treasure, known only to the few Gurmukhs. O Nanak, those who meet with the True Guru, enjoy peace and pleasure. || 15 || The True Guru is called the Giver; in His Mercy, He grants His Grace. I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru, who has blessed me with the Lord’s Name. || 16 || Blessed, very blessed is the Guru, who brings the Lord’s message. I gaze upon the Guru, the Guru, the True Guru embodied, and I blossom forth in bliss. || 17 || The Guru’s tongue recites Words of Ambrosial Nectar; He is adorned with the Lord’s Name. Those Sikhs who hear and obey the Guru — all their desires depart. || 18 || Some speak of the Lord’s Path; tell me, how can I walk on it? O Lord, Har, Har, Your Name is my supplies; I will take it with me and set out. || 19 || Those Gurmukhs who worship and adore the Lord, are wealthy and very wise. I am forever a sacrifice to the True Guru; I am absorbed in the Words of the Guru’s Teachings. || 20 || You are the Master, my Lord and Master; You are my Ruler and King. If it is pleasing to Your Will, then I worship and serve You; You are the treasure of virtue. || 21 || The Lord Himself is absolute; He is The One and Only; but He Himself is also manifested in many forms. Whatever pleases Him, O Nanak, that alone is good. || 22 || 2 ||

ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਾਣੀਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੀਤਿ ਸੁਣਾਈਆ ॥
हरि कीआ कथा कहाणीआ गुरि मीति सुणाईआ ॥
Har kī▫ā kathā kahāṇī▫ā gur mīṯ suṇā▫ī▫ā.
The Guru, my friend, has told me the stories and the sermon of the Lord.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਆ ॥੧॥
बलिहारी गुर आपणे गुर कउ बलि जाईआ ॥१॥
Balihārī gur āpṇe gur ka▫o bal jā▫ī▫ā. ||1||
I am a sacrifice to my Guru; to the Guru, I am a sacrifice. ||1||
ਆਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
आइ मिलु गुरसिख आइ मिलु तू मेरे गुरू के पिआरे ॥ रहाउ ॥
Ā▫e mil gursikẖ ā▫e mil ṯū mere gurū ke pi▫āre. Rahā▫o.
Come, join with me, O Sikh of the Guru, come and join with me. You are my Guru's Beloved. ||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵਦੇ ਸੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਏ ॥
हरि के गुण हरि भावदे से गुरू ते पाए ॥
Har ke guṇ har bẖāvḏe se gurū ṯe pā▫e.
The Glorious Praises of the Lord are pleasing to the Lord; I have obtained them from the Guru.
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਘੁਮਿ ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਏ ॥੨॥
जिन गुर का भाणा मंनिआ तिन घुमि घुमि जाए ॥२॥
Jin gur kā bẖāṇā mani▫ā ṯin gẖum gẖum jā▫e. ||2||
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to those who surrender to, and obey the Guru's Will. ||2||
ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ॥
जिन सतिगुरु पिआरा देखिआ तिन कउ हउ वारी ॥
Jin saṯgur pi▫ārā ḏekẖi▫ā ṯin ka▫o ha▫o vārī.
I am dedicated and devoted to those who gaze upon the Beloved True Guru.
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
जिन गुर की कीती चाकरी तिन सद बलिहारी ॥३॥
Jin gur kī kīṯī cẖākrī ṯin saḏ balihārī. ||3||
I am forever a sacrifice to those who perform service for the Guru. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਦੁਖ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
हरि हरि तेरा नामु है दुख मेटणहारा ॥
Har har ṯerā nām hai ḏukẖ metaṇhārā.
Your Name, O Lord, Har, Har, is the Destroyer of sorrow.
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥੪॥
गुर सेवा ते पाईऐ गुरमुखि निसतारा ॥४॥
Gur sevā ṯe pā▫ī▫ai gurmukẖ nisṯārā. ||4||
Serving the Guru, it is obtained, and as Gurmukh, one is emancipated. ||4||
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥
जो हरि नामु धिआइदे ते जन परवाना ॥
Jo har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏe ṯe jan parvānā.
Those humble beings who meditate on the Lord's Name, are celebrated and acclaimed.
ਤਿਨ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੫॥
तिन विटहु नानकु वारिआ सदा सदा कुरबाना ॥५॥
Ŧin vitahu Nānak vāri▫ā saḏā saḏā kurbānā. ||5||
Nanak is a sacrifice to them, forever and ever a devoted sacrifice. ||5||
ਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
सा हरि तेरी उसतति है जो हरि प्रभ भावै ॥
Sā har ṯerī usṯaṯ hai jo har parabẖ bẖāvai.
O Lord, that alone is Praise to You, which is pleasing to Your Will, O Lord God.
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੬॥
जो गुरमुखि पिआरा सेवदे तिन हरि फलु पावै ॥६॥
Jo gurmukẖ pi▫ārā sevḏe ṯin har fal pāvai. ||6||
Those Gurmukhs, who serve their Beloved Lord, obtain Him as their reward. ||6||
ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਤਿਨਾ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਲੇ ॥
जिना हरि सेती पिरहड़ी तिना जीअ प्रभ नाले ॥
Jinā har seṯī pirhaṛī ṯinā jī▫a parabẖ nāle.
Those who cherish love for the Lord, their souls are always with God.
ਓਇ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜੀਵਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥੭॥
ओइ जपि जपि पिआरा जीवदे हरि नामु समाले ॥७॥
O▫e jap jap pi▫ārā jīvḏe har nām samāle. ||7||
Chanting and meditating on their Beloved, they live in, and gather in, the Lord's Name. ||7||
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
जिन गुरमुखि पिआरा सेविआ तिन कउ घुमि जाइआ ॥
Jin gurmukẖ pi▫ārā sevi▫ā ṯin ka▫o gẖum jā▫i▫ā.
I am a sacrifice to those Gurmukhs who serve their Beloved Lord.
ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਛੁਟੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਿਉ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਛਡਾਇਆ ॥੮॥
ओइ आपि छुटे परवार सिउ सभु जगतु छडाइआ ॥८॥
O▫e āp cẖẖute parvār si▫o sabẖ jagaṯ cẖẖadā▫i▫ā. ||8||
They themselves are saved, along with their families, and through them, all the world is saved. ||8||
ਗੁਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨੋ ॥
गुरि पिआरै हरि सेविआ गुरु धंनु गुरु धंनो ॥
Gur pi▫ārai har sevi▫ā gur ḏẖan gur ḏẖanno.
My Beloved Guru serves the Lord. Blessed is the Guru, Blessed is the Guru.
ਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦਸਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਵਡ ਪੁੰਨੋ ॥੯॥
गुरि हरि मारगु दसिआ गुर पुंनु वड पुंनो ॥९॥
Gur har mārag ḏasi▫ā gur punn vad punno. ||9||
The Guru has shown me the Lord's Path; the Guru has done the greatest good deed. ||9||
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਸੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥
जो गुरसिख गुरु सेवदे से पुंन पराणी ॥
Jo gursikẖ gur sevḏe se punn parāṇī.
Those Sikhs of the Guru, who serve the Guru, are the most blessed beings.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੧੦॥
जनु नानकु तिन कउ वारिआ सदा सदा कुरबाणी ॥१०॥
Jan Nānak ṯin ka▫o vāri▫ā saḏā saḏā kurbāṇī. ||10||
Servant Nanak is a sacrifice to them; He is forever and ever a sacrifice. ||10||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆ ਸੇ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਈਆ ॥
गुरमुखि सखी सहेलीआ से आपि हरि भाईआ ॥
Gurmukẖ sakẖī sahelī▫ā se āp har bẖā▫ī▫ā.
The Lord Himself is pleased with the Gurmukhs, the fellowship of the companions.
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪੈਨਾਈਆ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਈਆ ॥੧੧॥
हरि दरगह पैनाईआ हरि आपि गलि लाईआ ॥११॥
Har ḏargėh painā▫ī▫ā har āp gal lā▫ī▫ā. ||11||
In the Lord's Court, they are given robes of honor, and the Lord Himself hugs them close in His embrace. ||11||
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
जो गुरमुखि नामु धिआइदे तिन दरसनु दीजै ॥
Jo gurmukẖ nām ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏe ṯin ḏarsan ḏījai.
Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of those Gurmukhs, who meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਹਮ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਲਦੇ ਧੂੜਿ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੋਲਿ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੧੨॥
हम तिन के चरण पखालदे धूड़ि घोलि घोलि पीजै ॥१२॥
Ham ṯin ke cẖaraṇ pakẖālḏe ḏẖūṛ gẖol gẖol pījai. ||12||
I wash their feet, and drink in the dust of their feet, dissolved in the wash water. ||12||
ਪਾਨ ਸੁਪਾਰੀ ਖਾਤੀਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੀੜੀਆ ਲਾਈਆ ॥
पान सुपारी खातीआ मुखि बीड़ीआ लाईआ ॥
Pān supārī kẖāṯī▫ā mukẖ bīṛī▫ā lā▫ī▫ā.
Those who eat betel nuts and betel leaf and apply lipstick,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਜਮਿ ਪਕੜਿ ਚਲਾਈਆ ॥੧੩॥
हरि हरि कदे न चेतिओ जमि पकड़ि चलाईआ ॥१३॥
Har har kaḏe na cẖeṯi▫o jam pakaṛ cẖalā▫ī▫ā. ||13||
but do not contemplate the Lord, Har, Har - the Messenger of Death will seize them and take them away. ||13||
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿਆ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
जिन हरि नामा हरि चेतिआ हिरदै उरि धारे ॥
Jin har nāmā har cẖeṯi▫ā hirḏai ur ḏẖāre.
Ones who contemplate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and keep Him enshrined in their hearts,
ਤਿਨ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਗੁਰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧੪॥
तिन जमु नेड़ि न आवई गुरसिख गुर पिआरे ॥१४॥
Ŧin jam neṛ na āvī gursikẖ gur pi▫āre. ||14||
the Messenger of Death does not even approach them; O, the Guru's Sikhs are the Guru's Beloveds! ||14||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
हरि का नामु निधानु है कोई गुरमुखि जाणै ॥
Har kā nām niḏẖān hai ko▫ī gurmukẖ jāṇai.
The Name of the Lord is a treasure, known only to the few Gurmukhs.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਣੈ ॥੧੫॥
नानक जिन सतिगुरु भेटिआ रंगि रलीआ माणै ॥१५॥
Nānak jin saṯgur bẖeti▫ā rang ralī▫ā māṇai. ||15||
O Nanak, those who meet with the True Guru, enjoy peace and pleasure. ||15||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਤੁਸਿ ਕਰੇ ਪਸਾਓ ॥
सतिगुरु दाता आखीऐ तुसि करे पसाओ ॥
Saṯgur ḏāṯā ākẖī▫ai ṯus kare pasā▫o.
The True Guru is called the Giver; in His Mercy, He grants His Grace.
ਹਉ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਸਦ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਦਿਤੜਾ ਨਾਓ ॥੧੬॥
हउ गुर विटहु सद वारिआ जिनि दितड़ा नाओ ॥१६॥
Ha▫o gur vitahu saḏ vāri▫ā jin ḏiṯ▫ṛā nā▫o. ||16||
I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru, who has blessed me with the Lord's Name. ||16||
ਸੋ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਇ ਸਨੇਹਾ ॥
सो धंनु गुरू साबासि है हरि देइ सनेहा ॥
So ḏẖan gurū sābās hai har ḏe▫e sanehā.
Blessed, very blessed is the Guru, who brings the Lord's message.
ਹਉ ਵੇਖਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇਹਾ ॥੧੭॥
हउ वेखि वेखि गुरू विगसिआ गुर सतिगुर देहा ॥१७॥
Ha▫o vekẖ vekẖ gurū vigsi▫ā gur saṯgur ḏehā. ||17||
I gaze upon the Guru, the Guru, the True Guru embodied, and I blossom forth in bliss. ||17||
ਗੁਰ ਰਸਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ॥
गुर रसना अम्रितु बोलदी हरि नामि सुहावी ॥
Gur rasnā amriṯ bolḏī har nām suhāvī.
The Guru's tongue recites Words of Ambrosial Nectar; He is adorned with the Lord's Name.
ਜਿਨ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਿਖਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਸਭ ਜਾਵੀ ॥੧੮॥
जिन सुणि सिखा गुरु मंनिआ तिना भुख सभ जावी ॥१८॥
Jin suṇ sikẖā gur mani▫ā ṯinā bẖukẖ sabẖ jāvī. ||18||
Those Sikhs who hear and obey the Guru - all their desires depart. ||18||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
हरि का मारगु आखीऐ कहु कितु बिधि जाईऐ ॥
Har kā mārag ākẖī▫ai kaho kiṯ biḏẖ jā▫ī▫ai.
Some speak of the Lord's Path; tell me, how can I walk on it?
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਖਰਚੁ ਲੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੧੯॥
हरि हरि तेरा नामु है हरि खरचु लै जाईऐ ॥१९॥
Har har ṯerā nām hai har kẖaracẖ lai jā▫ī▫ai. ||19||
O Lord, Har, Har, Your Name is my supplies; I will take it with me and set out. ||19||
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਸੇ ਸਾਹ ਵਡ ਦਾਣੇ ॥
जिन गुरमुखि हरि आराधिआ से साह वड दाणे ॥
Jin gurmukẖ har ārāḏẖi▫ā se sāh vad ḏāṇe.
Those Gurmukhs who worship and adore the Lord, are wealthy and very wise.
ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ॥੨੦॥
हउ सतिगुर कउ सद वारिआ गुर बचनि समाणे ॥२०॥
Ha▫o saṯgur ka▫o saḏ vāri▫ā gur bacẖan samāṇe. ||20||
I am forever a sacrifice to the True Guru; I am absorbed in the Words of the Guru's Teachings. ||20||
ਤੂ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਤੂ ਸਾਹਿਬੋ ਤੂਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੀਰਾ ॥
तू ठाकुरु तू साहिबो तूहै मेरा मीरा ॥
Ŧū ṯẖākur ṯū sāhibo ṯūhai merā mīrā.
You are the Master, my Lord and Master; You are my Ruler and King.
ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਤੂ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰਾ ॥੨੧॥
तुधु भावै तेरी बंदगी तू गुणी गहीरा ॥२१॥
Ŧuḏẖ bẖāvai ṯerī banḏagī ṯū guṇī gahīrā. ||21||
If it is pleasing to Your Will, then I worship and serve You; You are the treasure of virtue. ||21||
ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ ॥
आपे हरि इक रंगु है आपे बहु रंगी ॥
Āpe har ik rang hai āpe baho rangī.
The Lord Himself is absolute; He is The One and Only; but He Himself is also manifested in many forms.

ਤਿਲੰਕ ਚੌਥੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਰਮ ਵਾਰਤਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਖੀਆਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ।
ਕੀਆ = ਦੀਆਂ। ਕਥਾ ਕਹਾਣੀਆ = ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ। ਗੁਰਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ। ਮੀਤਿ = ਮਿੱਤਰ ਨੇ। ਕਉ = ਨੂੰ, ਤੋਂ। ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਆ = ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਬਲਿ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ।੧।
ਹੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ! ਮਿੱਤਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸਦਕੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੧।
ਆਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ā▫e mil gursikẖ ā▫e mil ṯū mere gurū ke pi▫āre. Rahā▫o.
ਆ ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ, ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ! ਤੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਂਡੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
ਆਇ = ਆ ਕੇ। ਗੁਰਸਿਖ = ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ!।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵਦੇ ਸੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਏ ॥ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਘੁਮਿ ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਏ ॥੨॥
Har ke guṇ har bẖāvḏe se gurū ṯe pā▫e. Jin gur kā bẖāṇā mani▫ā ṯin gẖum gẖum jā▫e. ||2||
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਫਤਾਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਸਕਦੇ, ਮੈਂ ਸਕਦੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਭਾਵਦੇ = ਚੰਗੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੇ = ਉਹ ਗੁਣ (ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ)। ਤੇ = ਤੋਂ, ਪਾਸੋਂ। ਭਾਣਾ = ਰਜ਼ਾ। ਘੁਮਿ ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਏ = ਘੁਮਿ ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੨।
ਹੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ (ਗਾਉਣੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਗੁਣ (ਗਾਉਣੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਿੱਖੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ (ਮਿੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ।੨।
ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
Jin saṯgur pi▫ārā ḏekẖi▫ā ṯin ka▫o ha▫o vārī. Jin gur kī kīṯī cẖākrī ṯin saḏ balihārī. ||3||
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਘੋਲੀ ਵੰਞਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਉ = ਮੈਂ, ਹਉਂ। ਵਾਰੀ = ਕੁਰਬਾਨ। ਚਾਕਰੀ = ਸੇਵਾ। ਸਦ = ਸਦਾ।੩।
ਹੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ! ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਦੱਸੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।੩।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਦੁਖ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥੪॥
Har har ṯerā nām hai ḏukẖ metaṇhārā. Gur sevā ṯe pā▫ī▫ai gurmukẖ nisṯārā. ||4||
ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ = ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇ = ਤੋਂ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ। ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ = ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ।੪।
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਹੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੫॥
Jo har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏe ṯe jan parvānā. Ŧin vitahu Nānak vāri▫ā saḏā saḏā kurbānā. ||5||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੀਵ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਦੱਕੜੇ ਹੈ।
ਤੇ = ਉਹ {ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ}। ਪਰਵਾਨਾ = ਕਬੂਲ, ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ। ਵਿਟਹੁ = ਤੋਂ।੫।
ਹੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੫।
ਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੬॥
Sā har ṯerī usṯaṯ hai jo har parabẖ bẖāvai. Jo gurmukẖ pi▫ārā sevḏe ṯin har fal pāvai. ||6||
ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ! ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਪਰਪਣ ਹੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ, ਸਿਲੇ ਵਜੋਂ, ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਾ = ਉਹ {ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਲਿੰਗ}। ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ = ਹੇ ਹਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਭਾਵੈ = (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ। ਪਾਵੈ = ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੬।
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਉਹੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਹੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸੁਖ-) ਫਲ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੬।
ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਤਿਨਾ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਲੇ ॥ ਓਇ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜੀਵਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥੭॥
Jinā har seṯī pirhaṛī ṯinā jī▫a parabẖ nāle. O▫e jap jap pi▫ārā jīvḏe har nām samāle. ||7||
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਤੇ ਆਰਾਧ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੇਤੀ = ਨਾਲ। ਪਿਰਹੜੀ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ। ਤਿਨਾ ਜੀਅ = ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ। ਜੀਅ = {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਜੀਉ' ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ}। ਓਇ = {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਓਹ' ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ} ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ। ਜਪਿ = ਜਪ ਕੇ। ਜੀਵਦੇ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਮਾਲੇ = ਸਮਾਲਿ, ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ।੭।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ (ਸਦਾ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਹੀ (ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ) ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।੭।
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਇਆ ॥ ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਛੁਟੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਿਉ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਛਡਾਇਆ ॥੮॥
Jin gurmukẖ pi▫ārā sevi▫ā ṯin ka▫o gẖum jā▫i▫ā. O▫e āp cẖẖute parvār si▫o sabẖ jagaṯ cẖẖadā▫i▫ā. ||8||
ਗੁਰੂ-ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਹੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਆਪ ਸੁਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਕਬੀਲੇ ਦੇ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਉ = ਨੂੰ, ਤੋਂ। ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਇਆ = ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਸਿਉ = ਸਮੇਤ। ਸਭੁ = ਸਾਰਾ।੮।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਗਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਭੀ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।੮।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨੋ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦਸਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਵਡ ਪੁੰਨੋ ॥੯॥
Gur pi▫ārai har sevi▫ā gur ḏẖan gur ḏẖanno. Gur har mārag ḏasi▫ā gur punn vad punno. ||9||
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਚਾਰਕੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਹੈ। ਮੁਬਾਰਕ, ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਵਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਪਕਾਰ, ਮਹਾਨ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੈ = ਪਿਆਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਧੰਨੁ = {धन्य} ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਯੋਗ। ਗੁਰਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ। ਮਾਰਗੁ = ਰਸਤਾ। ਗੁਰ ਪੁੰਨੁ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਕਾਰ।੯।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਪਿਆਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਹੀ) ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਇਹ) ਉਪਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਵੱਡਾ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਹੈ।੯।
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਸੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੧੦॥
Jo gursikẖ gur sevḏe se punn parāṇī. Jan Nānak ṯin ka▫o vāri▫ā saḏā saḏā kurbāṇī. ||10||
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਰੀਦ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਗੁਣਵਾਨ ਜੀਵ ਹਨ। ਗੋਲਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ, ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਕਦੇ ਵੰਞਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ। ਪੁੰਨ = {ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਣ} ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ, ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ। ਸੇ ਪਰਾਣੀ = ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ।੧੦।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਦੱਸੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧੦।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆ ਸੇ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਈਆ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪੈਨਾਈਆ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਈਆ ॥੧੧॥
Gurmukẖ sakẖī sahelī▫ā se āp har bẖā▫ī▫ā. Har ḏargėh painā▫ī▫ā har āp gal lā▫ī▫ā. ||11||
ਪਵਿੱਤਰ-ਆਤਮਾ ਸਖੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਥਣਾਂ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਾਕ ਪਹਿਨਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਿੱਕ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਖੀ = ਸਖੀਆਂ, ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ। ਸੇ = ਉਹ ਸਖੀਆਂ। ਭਾਈਆ = ਭਾਈਆਂ, ਪਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ। ਪੈਨਾਈਆ = ਪੈਨਾਈਆਂ, ਸਤਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰੋਪਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਗਲਿ = ਗਲ ਨਾਲ। ਲਾਈਆ = ਲਾਈਆਂ।੧੧।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਪਰਸਪਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀ) ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ (ਐਸੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ) ਉਹ ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ (ਸਦਾ) ਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।੧੧।
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥ ਹਮ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਲਦੇ ਧੂੜਿ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੋਲਿ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੧੨॥
Jo gurmukẖ nām ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏe ṯin ḏarsan ḏījai. Ham ṯin ke cẖaraṇ pakẖālḏe ḏẖūṛ gẖol gẖol pījai. ||12||
ਗੁਰੂ-ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਬਖਸ਼। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਿਲਾ ਹਿਲਾ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੋਂਣ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਦੀਜੈ = ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੇਹ। ਪਖਾਲਦੇ = ਧੋਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਘੋਲਿ = ਘੋਲ ਕੇ।੧੨।
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼। ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਧੋਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਤੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਘੋਲ ਘੋਲ ਕੇ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।੧੨।
ਪਾਨ ਸੁਪਾਰੀ ਖਾਤੀਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੀੜੀਆ ਲਾਈਆ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਜਮਿ ਪਕੜਿ ਚਲਾਈਆ ॥੧੩॥
Pān supārī kẖāṯī▫ā mukẖ bīṛī▫ā lā▫ī▫ā. Har har kaḏe na cẖeṯi▫o jam pakaṛ cẖalā▫ī▫ā. ||13||
ਜੋ ਤਬੋਲ ਤੇ ਸਪਾਰੀ ਖਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਦੇ ਬੁਲ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਲ ਵੱਟਣ ਮਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਦਾਚਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਫਰੇਸ਼ਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਖਾਤੀਆ = ਖਾਤੀਆਂ, ਖਾਂਦੀਆਂ। ਮੁਖਿ = ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ। ਬੀੜੀਆ = ਬੀੜੀਆਂ, ਪਾਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੀੜੀਆਂ। ਜਮਿ = ਜਮ ਨੇ, ਮੌਤ ਨੇ। ਪਕੜਿ = ਫੜ ਕੇ।੧੩।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਪਾਨ ਸੁਪਾਰੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਖਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਨ ਚਬਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਦਾ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹਨ), ਤੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ (ਦੇ ਗੇੜ) ਨੇ ਫੜ ਕੇ (ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਅੱਗੇ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ (ਉਹ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਗਈਆਂ)।੧੩।
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿਆ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਗੁਰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧੪॥
Jin har nāmā har cẖeṯi▫ā hirḏai ur ḏẖāre. Ŧin jam neṛ na āvī gursikẖ gur pi▫āre. ||14||
ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਰੀਦ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਬੂਬ ਹਨ।
ਹਿਰਦੈ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਉਰਿ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਧਾਰੇ = ਧਾਰਿ, ਧਾਰ ਕੇ। ਜਮੁ = ਮੌਤ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ। ਆਵਈ = ਆਵਏ, ਆਵੈ, ਆਉਂਦਾ।੧੪।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਮੌਤ (ਦਾ ਡਰ) ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।੧੪।
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਣੈ ॥੧੫॥
Har kā nām niḏẖān hai ko▫ī gurmukẖ jāṇai. Nānak jin saṯgur bẖeti▫ā rang ralī▫ā māṇai. ||15||
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਹੀ ਜਣਾ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੁੱਖ ਅਤਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਭੋਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਿਧਾਨੁ = ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ। ਕੋਈ = ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਭੇਟਿਆ = ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ। ਰੰਗਿ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ। ਮਾਣੈ = ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ = ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!।੧੫।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।੧੫।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਤੁਸਿ ਕਰੇ ਪਸਾਓ ॥ ਹਉ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਸਦ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਦਿਤੜਾ ਨਾਓ ॥੧੬॥
Saṯgur ḏāṯā ākẖī▫ai ṯus kare pasā▫o. Ha▫o gur vitahu saḏ vāri▫ā jin ḏiṯ▫ṛā nā▫o. ||16||
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਕਹੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦਾਤਾ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ, ਘੋਲੀ ਵੰਞਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਦਾਤਾ = (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਆਖੀਐ = ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸਿ = ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠ ਕੇ। ਪਸਾਓ = ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੁ, ਕਿਰਪਾ। ਹਉ = ਮੈਂ। ਵਿਟਹੁ = ਤੋਂ। ਵਾਰਿਆ = ਕੁਰਬਾਨ। ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੇ। ਨਾਓ = ਨਾਉ, ਨਾਮ।੧੬।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ (ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਤੱ੍ਰੁਠ ਕੇ (ਨਾਮ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ (ਤਾਂ) ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ (ਹੀ) ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।੧੬।
ਸੋ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਇ ਸਨੇਹਾ ॥ ਹਉ ਵੇਖਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇਹਾ ॥੧੭॥
So ḏẖan gurū sābās hai har ḏe▫e sanehā. Ha▫o vekẖ vekẖ gurū vigsi▫ā gur saṯgur ḏehā. ||17||
ਸੁਲੱਖਣੇ! ਸੁਲੱਖਣ। ਹਨ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਫੁੱਲਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਧੰਨੁ = ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਯੋਗ। ਦੇਇ = ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਨੇਹਾ = ਉਪਦੇਸ਼। ਵੇਖਿ = ਵੇਖ ਕੇ। ਵਿਗਸਿਆ = ਖਿੜ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਗੁਰ ਦੇਹਾ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ।੧੭।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ (ਤਾਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ (ਸੋਹਣਾ) ਸਰੀਰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਖਿੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।੧੭।
ਗੁਰ ਰਸਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ॥ ਜਿਨ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਿਖਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਸਭ ਜਾਵੀ ॥੧੮॥
Gur rasnā amriṯ bolḏī har nām suhāvī. Jin suṇ sikẖā gur mani▫ā ṯinā bẖukẖ sabẖ jāvī. ||18||
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੀਭਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਰਸ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਖੁਧਿਆ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਰਸਨਾ = ਜੀਭ। ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ। ਨਾਮਿ = ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਸੁਹਾਵੀ = ਸੋਹਣੀ। ਜਿਨ = ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਜਿਨਿ' ਅਤੇ 'ਜਿਨ' ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਵੇਖੋ}। ਸਿਖਾ = ਸਿੱਖਾਂ (ਨੇ)। ਜਾਵੀ = ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।੧੮।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ (ਉਚਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਕੀਨ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।੧੮।
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਖਰਚੁ ਲੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੧੯॥
Har kā mārag ākẖī▫ai kaho kiṯ biḏẖ jā▫ī▫ai. Har har ṯerā nām hai har kẖaracẖ lai jā▫ī▫ai. ||19||
ਲੋਕੀਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਦੱਸੋਂ! ਕਿਹੜੇ, ਕਿਹੜੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਉਤੇ ਟੁਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ? ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ, ਤੇਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਫਰ ਖਰਚ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਟੁਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਮਾਰਗੁ = ਰਸਤਾ। ਕਹੁ = ਦੱਸੋ। ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ = ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ?।੧੯।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੱਸ, ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ (ਇਸ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ) ਤੁਰ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ? ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਰਸਤੇ ਦਾ) ਖ਼ਰਚ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਪੱਲੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ) ਤੁਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।੧੯।
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਸੇ ਸਾਹ ਵਡ ਦਾਣੇ ॥ ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ॥੨੦॥
Jin gurmukẖ har ārāḏẖi▫ā se sāh vad ḏāṇe. Ha▫o saṯgur ka▫o saḏ vāri▫ā gur bacẖan samāṇe. ||20||
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਮਰਪਨ, ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਧਨਾਡ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ। ਸੇ = ਉਹ {ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ}। ਸਾਹ = ਸ਼ਾਹ। ਦਾਣੇ = ਸਿਆਣੇ, ਦਾਨੇ। ਸਦ = ਸਦਾ। ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ।੨੦।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ) ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ।੨੦।
ਤੂ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਤੂ ਸਾਹਿਬੋ ਤੂਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੀਰਾ ॥ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਤੂ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰਾ ॥੨੧॥
Ŧū ṯẖākur ṯū sāhibo ṯūhai merā mīrā. Ŧuḏẖ bẖāvai ṯerī banḏagī ṯū guṇī gahīrā. ||21||
ਤੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ ਹਂੈ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਲਤਾਨ। ਜੇਕਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਹਿਬੋ = ਸਾਹਿਬੁ, ਮਾਲਕ। ਮੀਰਾ = ਸਰਦਾਰ, ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ। ਤੁਧੁ = ਤੈਨੂੰ। ਗੁਣੀ = ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ। ਗਹੀਰਾ = ਡੂੰਘੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ।੨੧।
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈਂ। ਜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।੨੧।
ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ ॥ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਾਈ ਗਲ ਚੰਗੀ ॥੨੨॥੨॥
Āpe har ik rang hai āpe baho rangī. Jo ṯis bẖāvai nānkā sā▫ī gal cẖangī. ||22||2||
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਸਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਬਾਤ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ = ਆਪ ਹੀ। ਇਕ ਰੰਗੁ = ਇਕ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ। ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ = ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ।੨੨।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ) ਇਕੋ ਇਕ ਹਸਤੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਰਗੁਣ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜੀ ਗੱਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।੨੨।੨।
