Through the True Word of the Shabad, true happiness prevails, there where the True Lord, Waheguru Ji is contemplated. Egotism and all sins are eradicated, when one keeps the True Lord, Waheguru Ji enshrined in the heart. One who keeps the True Lord, Waheguru Ji enshrined in the heart, crosses over the terrible and dreadful world-ocean; he shall not have to cross over it again. True is the My True Guru Ji, and True is the Word of His Bani; through it, the True Lord, Waheguru Ji is seen. One who sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord, Waheguru Ji merges in Truth; he beholds the True Lord, Waheguru Ji everywhere. O Nanak, True is the Lord, Waheguru Ji and Master, and True is His Name; through Truth, comes emancipation. ||1|| The My True Guru Ji reveals the True Lord, Waheguru Ji; the True Lord, Waheguru Ji preserves our honor. The true food is love for the True Lord, Waheguru Ji; through the True Name, peace is obtained. Through the True Name, the mortal finds peace; he shall never die, and never again enter the womb of reincarnation. His light blends with the Light, and he merges into the True Lord, Waheguru Ji; he is illuminated and enlightened with the True Name. Those who know the Truth are True; night and day, they meditate on Truth. O Nanak, those whose hearts are filled with the True Name, never suffer the pains of separation. ||2|| In that home, and in that heart, where the True Bani of the Lord, Waheguru Ji's True Praises are sung, the songs of joy resound. Through the immaculate virtues of the True Lord, Waheguru Ji, the body and mind are rendered True, and God, Waheguru Ji, the True Primal Being, dwells within. Such a person practices only Truth, and speaks only Truth; whatever the True Lord, Waheguru Ji does, that alone comes to pass. Wherever I look, there I see the True Lord, Waheguru Ji pervading; there is no other at all. From the True Lord, Waheguru Ji, we emanate, and into the True Lord, Waheguru Ji, we shall merge; death and birth come from duality. O Nanak, He Himself does everything; He Himself is the Cause. ||3|| The true devotees look beautiful in the Darbaar of the Lord, Waheguru Ji's Court. They speak Truth, and only Truth. Deep within the nucleus of their heart, is the True Word of the Lord, Waheguru Ji's Bani. Through the Truth, they understand themselves. They understand themselves, and so know the True Lord, Waheguru Ji, through their true intuition. True is the Shabad, and True is its Glory; peace comes only from Truth. Imbued with Truth, the devotees love the One Lord, Waheguru Ji; they do not love any other. O Nanak, he alone obtains the True Lord, Waheguru Ji, who has such pre-ordained destiny written upon his forehead. ||4||2||3||

ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਜਿਥੈ ਸਚੇ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਵੀਚਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥
सबदि सचै सचु सोहिला जिथै सचे का होइ वीचारो राम ॥
Sabaḏ sacẖai sacẖ sohilā jithai sacẖe kā ho▫e vīcẖāro rām.
Through the True Word of the Shabad, true happiness prevails, there where the True Lord, Waheguru Ji is contemplated.
ਹਉਮੈ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਾਚੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
हउमै सभि किलविख काटे साचु रखिआ उरि धारे राम ॥
Ha▫umai sabẖ kilvikẖ kāte sācẖ rakẖi▫ā ur ḏẖāre rām.
Egotism and all sins are eradicated, when one keeps the True Lord, Waheguru Ji enshrined in the heart.
ਸਚੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਾਰੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
सचु रखिआ उर धारे दुतरु तारे फिरि भवजलु तरणु न होई ॥
Sacẖ rakẖi▫ā ur ḏẖāre ḏuṯar ṯāre fir bẖavjal ṯaraṇ na ho▫ī.
One who keeps the True Lord, Waheguru Ji enshrined in the heart, crosses over the terrible and dreadful world-ocean; he shall not have to cross over it again.
ਸਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥
सचा सतिगुरु सची बाणी जिनि सचु विखालिआ सोई ॥
Sacẖā saṯgur sacẖī baṇī jin sacẖ vikẖāli▫ā so▫ī.
True is the My True Guru Ji, and True is the Word of His Bani; through it, the True Lord, Waheguru Ji is seen.
ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਸਚੁ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
साचे गुण गावै सचि समावै सचु वेखै सभु सोई ॥
Sācẖe guṇ gāvai sacẖ samāvai sacẖ vekẖai sabẖ so▫ī.
One who sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord, Waheguru Ji merges in Truth; he beholds the True Lord, Waheguru Ji everywhere.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਾਚੀ ਨਾਈ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥
नानक साचा साहिबु साची नाई सचु निसतारा होई ॥१॥
Nānak sācẖā sāhib sācẖī nā▫ī sacẖ nisṯārā ho▫ī. ||1||
O Nanak, True is the Lord, Waheguru Ji and Master, and True is His Name; through Truth, comes emancipation. ||1||
ਸਾਚੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
साचै सतिगुरि साचु बुझाइआ पति राखै सचु सोई राम ॥
Sācẖai saṯgur sācẖ bujẖā▫i▫ā paṯ rākẖai sacẖ so▫ī rām.
The My True Guru Ji reveals the True Lord, Waheguru Ji; the True Lord, Waheguru Ji preserves our honor.
ਸਚਾ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
सचा भोजनु भाउ सचा है सचै नामि सुखु होई राम ॥
Sacẖā bẖojan bẖā▫o sacẖā hai sacẖai nām sukẖ ho▫ī rām.
The true food is love for the True Lord, Waheguru Ji; through the True Name, peace is obtained.
ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਗਰਭਿ ਨ ਜੂਨੀ ਵਾਸਾ ॥
साचै नामि सुखु होई मरै न कोई गरभि न जूनी वासा ॥
Sācẖai nām sukẖ ho▫ī marai na ko▫ī garabẖ na jūnī vāsā.
Through the True Name, the mortal finds peace; he shall never die, and never again enter the womb of reincarnation.
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥
जोती जोति मिलाई सचि समाई सचि नाइ परगासा ॥
Joṯī joṯ milā▫ī sacẖ samā▫ī sacẖ nā▫e pargāsā.
His light blends with the Light, and he merges into the True Lord, Waheguru Ji; he is illuminated and enlightened with the True Name.
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਸਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ॥
जिनी सचु जाता से सचे होए अनदिनु सचु धिआइनि ॥
Jinī sacẖ jāṯā se sacẖe ho▫e an▫ḏin sacẖ ḏẖi▫ā▫in.
Those who know the Truth are True; night and day, they meditate on Truth.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਨਾ ਵੀਛੁੜਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਨਿ ॥੨॥
नानक सचु नामु जिन हिरदै वसिआ ना वीछुड़ि दुखु पाइनि ॥२॥
Nānak sacẖ nām jin hirḏai vasi▫ā nā vīcẖẖuṛ ḏukẖ pā▫in. ||2||
O Nanak, those whose hearts are filled with the True Name, never suffer the pains of separation. ||2||
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
सची बाणी सचे गुण गावहि तितु घरि सोहिला होई राम ॥
Sacẖī baṇī sacẖe guṇ gāvahi ṯiṯ gẖar sohilā ho▫ī rām.
In that home, and in that heart, where the True Bani of the Lord, Waheguru Ji's True Praises are sung, the songs of joy resound.
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਚੇ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
निरमल गुण साचे तनु मनु साचा विचि साचा पुरखु प्रभु सोई राम ॥
Nirmal guṇ sācẖe ṯan man sācẖā vicẖ sācẖā purakẖ parabẖ so▫ī rām.
Through the immaculate virtues of the True Lord, Waheguru Ji, the body and mind are rendered True, and God, Waheguru Ji, the True Primal Being, dwells within.
ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਚੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਜੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
सभु सचु वरतै सचो बोलै जो सचु करै सु होई ॥
Sabẖ sacẖ varṯai sacẖo bolai jo sacẖ karai so ho▫ī.
Such a person practices only Truth, and speaks only Truth; whatever the True Lord, Waheguru Ji does, that alone comes to pass.
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਸਚੁ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥
जह देखा तह सचु पसरिआ अवरु न दूजा कोई ॥
Jah ḏekẖā ṯah sacẖ pasri▫ā avar na ḏūjā ko▫ī.
Wherever I look, there I see the True Lord, Waheguru Ji pervading; there is no other at all.
ਸਚੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਈ ॥
सचे उपजै सचि समावै मरि जनमै दूजा होई ॥
Sacẖe upjai sacẖ samāvai mar janmai ḏūjā ho▫ī.
From the True Lord, Waheguru Ji, we emanate, and into the True Lord, Waheguru Ji, we shall merge; death and birth come from duality.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥
नानक सभु किछु आपे करता आपि करावै सोई ॥३॥
Nānak sabẖ kicẖẖ āpe karṯā āp karāvai so▫ī. ||3||
O Nanak, He Himself does everything; He Himself is the Cause. ||3||
ਸਚੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਦਰਵਾਰੇ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
सचे भगत सोहहि दरवारे सचो सचु वखाणे राम ॥
Sacẖe bẖagaṯ sohėh ḏarvāre sacẖo sacẖ vakẖāṇe rām.
The true devotees look beautiful in the Darbaar of the Lord, Waheguru Ji's Court. They speak Truth, and only Truth.
ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰੇ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਾਚੋ ਆਪਿ ਪਛਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
घट अंतरे साची बाणी साचो आपि पछाणे राम ॥
Gẖat anṯre sācẖī baṇī sācẖo āp pacẖẖāṇe rām.
Deep within the nucleus of their heart, is the True Word of the Lord, Waheguru Ji's Bani. Through the Truth, they understand themselves.
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਤਾ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਈ ॥
आपु पछाणहि ता सचु जाणहि साचे सोझी होई ॥
Āp pacẖẖāṇėh ṯā sacẖ jāṇėh sācẖe sojẖī ho▫ī.
They understand themselves, and so know the True Lord, Waheguru Ji, through their true intuition.
ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੀ ਹੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਾਚੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
सचा सबदु सची है सोभा साचे ही सुखु होई ॥
Sacẖā sabaḏ sacẖī hai sobẖā sācẖe hī sukẖ ho▫ī.
True is the Shabad, and True is its Glory; peace comes only from Truth.
ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
साचि रते भगत इक रंगी दूजा रंगु न कोई ॥
Sācẖ raṯe bẖagaṯ ik rangī ḏūjā rang na ko▫ī.
Imbued with Truth, the devotees love the One Lord, Waheguru Ji; they do not love any other.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥
नानक जिस कउ मसतकि लिखिआ तिसु सचु परापति होई ॥४॥२॥३॥
Nānak jis ka▫o masṯak likẖi▫ā ṯis sacẖ parāpaṯ ho▫ī. ||4||2||3||
O Nanak, he alone obtains the True Lord, Waheguru Ji, who has such pre-ordained destiny written upon his forehead. ||4||2||3||

ਸੂਹੀ ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ। ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੱਚੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਉਥੇ ਪਰਵਿਰਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੇ ਸਮੁੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਠਨ ਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ। ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਅਮੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੂਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਬਦਖਲਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਸੋਹਿਲਾ = {सुख केल:} ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੀਤ। ਜਿਥੈ = ਜਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ। ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ = ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ। ਸਚੁ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ। ਉਰਿ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਦੁਤਰੁ = ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਨਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ। ਭਵਜਲੁ = ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ। ਤਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ = ਤਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ। ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਬਾਣੀ। ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੇ। ਸਚੁ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ। ਸਚਿ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ। ਨਾਈ = ਵਡਿਆਈ {स्ना, ਅਰਬੀ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼}। ਸਚੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ = ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ।੧।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਔਖੇ ਤਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਦੀ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਭੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।
ਸਾਚੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਸਚਾ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਗਰਭਿ ਨ ਜੂਨੀ ਵਾਸਾ ॥ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥ ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਸਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਨਾ ਵੀਛੁੜਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਨਿ ॥੨॥
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਲੱਜਿਆ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੀ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਬੱਚੇਦਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ। ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਪਰਮ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਆਤਮੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ।
ਸਚੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ। ਸਾਚੁ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ। ਪਤਿ = ਇੱਜ਼ਤ। ਭਾਉ ਸਚਾ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ। ਨਾਮਿ = ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ। ਮਰੈ ਨ = ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਹੇੜਦਾ। ਗਰਭਿ = ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ। ਜੋਤੀ = ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ। ਸਚਿ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ। ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ। ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ। ਜਾਤਾ = ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ। ਅਨਦਿਨੁ = ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ। ਧਿਆਇਨਿ = ਧਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਿਰਦੈ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਵੀਛੁੜਿ = ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ। ਨ ਪਾਇਨਿ = ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ।੨।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਟੱਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਹੇੜਦਾ, ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਸੁਰਤਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਣ ਗਏ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ।੨।
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਚੇ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਚੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਜੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਸਚੁ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਸਚੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗੂੰਜਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਤੇ ਸੱਚੀਆਂ ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਸੱਚ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚ ਹੀ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਝ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੋਰ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦ ਤਾਂਈਂ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਖੁਦ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਗਾਵਹਿ = ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ = (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ। ਸੋਹਿਲਾ = {सुख केलः} ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ, ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਰੌ। ਸਚਾ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ, ਅਡੋਲ। ਸਭੁ = ਹਰ ਥਾਂ। ਸਚੋ = ਸੱਚ ਹੀ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ। ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ = ਜਿਧਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਤਹ = ਉਧਰ (ਹੀ)। ਸਚੇ ਉਪਜੈ = (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਨਵਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਚਿ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ।੩।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਰੌ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਤਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਅਡੋਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪੁਰਖ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹੀ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਧਰ ਵੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਸਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਨਵਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।੩।
ਸਚੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਦਰਵਾਰੇ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰੇ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਾਚੋ ਆਪਿ ਪਛਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਤਾ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੀ ਹੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਾਚੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥
ਸੱਚੇ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਹਣੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਸੱਚ ਹੀ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗਿਆਤ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਤਾ। ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੰਤ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਿਆਰਦੇ। ਨਾਨਕ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਉਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੇ ਭਗਤ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ। ਦਰਵਾਰੇ = ਦਰਬਾਰਿ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ। ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ = ਸਚੁ ਹੀ ਸਚੁ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ। ਅੰਤਰੇ = ਅੰਦਰ। ਘਟ = ਹਿਰਦਾ। ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ। ਸਾਚੋ = ਸਾਚੁ ਹੀ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ। ਆਪਿ = ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ। ਆਪੁ = ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ। ਜਾਣਹਿ = ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਚਿ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ। ਇਕ ਰੰਗੀ = ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ। ਜਿਸ ਕਉ = {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਜਿਸੁ' ਦਾ ੁ ਸੰਬੰਧਕ 'ਕਉ' ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉੱਡ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ}। ਮਸਤਕਿ = ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ।੪।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਚਾਰ ਉਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਭਗਤ-ਜਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਸੋਭਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ) ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਇਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ) ਰੰਗ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੨।੩।
