Be imbued with the Love of your Husband Lord Waheguru Ji, O beautiful, perishable bride. Remain immersed in the True Word of the Shabad, O perishable bride; savor and enjoy the Love of your Beloved Husband. The Husband Lord embellishes His beloved bride with His True Love; she is in love with the Lord, Har, Har. Renouncing her selfishness, she attains her Husband Lord, and remains merged in the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. That soul-bride is adorned with the Shabad, who is attracted by His Love, and who treasures the Love of her Beloved deep within. O Nanak, the Husband Lord blends that soul bride with Himself; the True King embellishes her. || 1 || O worthless bride, see your Husband Lord ever-present. One who, as Gurmukh, enjoys her Husband Lord, O perishable bride, knows Him to be all-pervading everywhere. The Husband Lord is all-pervading everywhere; behold Him ever-present. Throughout the ages, know Him as the One. The young, innocent bride intuitively enjoys her Husband Lord; she meets the Architect of karma. One who tastes the sublime essence of the Lord, and chants the sublime Word of the Shabad, remains immersed in the Lord’s Sacred Pool. O Nanak, that soul-bride is pleasing to her Husband Lord, who, through the Shabad, remains in His Presence. || 2 || Go and ask the happy soul-brides, O perishable bride, who have eradicated self-conceit from within. Those who have not eradicated self-conceit, O perishable bride, do not realize the Hukam of their Husband Lord’s Command. Those who eradicate self-conceit obtain their Husband Lord and delight in His Love. Forever attuned to His Love, in perfect poise and grace, she repeats His Name night and day. Very fortunate is that bride who focuses her consciousness on Him; her Lord’s Love is so sweet to her. O Nanak, that soul-bride who is adorned with Truth is imbued with her Lord’s Love, in peace and poise. || 3 || Overcome your egotism, O perishable bride, and walk in the Guru’s Way. Thus you shall enjoy your Husband Lord forever, O perishable bride, and obtain an abode in the home of your own inner being. Obtaining an abode in the home of her inner being, she vibrates the Word of the Shabad, and is a happy soul-bride forever. The Husband Lord is delightful and forever young; night and day, He embellishes His bride. Her Husband Lord activates the destiny written on her forehead, and she is adorned with the True Shabad. O Nanak, the soul-bride is imbued with the Love of the Lord, when she walks according to the Will of the True Guru. || 4 || 1 ||

ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਰ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੀ ਮੁਈਏ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੀ ਨਾਰੇ ॥
आपणे पिर कै रंगि रती मुईए सोभावंती नारे ॥
Āpṇe pir kai rang raṯī mu▫ī▫e sobẖāvanṯī nāre.
Let yourself be imbued with the Love of your Husband Lord, O beautiful, mortal bride.
ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀ ਮੁਈਏ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
सचै सबदि मिलि रही मुईए पिरु रावे भाइ पिआरे ॥
Sacẖai sabaḏ mil rahī mu▫ī▫e pir rāve bẖā▫e pi▫āre.
Let yourself remain merged in the True Word of the Shabad, O mortal bride; savor and enjoy the Love of your Beloved Husband Lord.
ਸਚੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਕੰਤਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥
सचै भाइ पिआरी कंति सवारी हरि हरि सिउ नेहु रचाइआ ॥
Sacẖai bẖā▫e pi▫ārī kanṯ savārī har har si▫o nehu racẖā▫i▫ā.
The Husband Lord embellishes His beloved bride with His True Love; she is in love with the Lord, Har, Har.
ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
आपु गवाइआ ता पिरु पाइआ गुर कै सबदि समाइआ ॥
Āp gavā▫i▫ā ṯā pir pā▫i▫ā gur kai sabaḏ samā▫i▫ā.
Renouncing her self-centeredness, she attains her Husband Lord, and remains merged in the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਸਾ ਧਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਸਾਈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
सा धन सबदि सुहाई प्रेम कसाई अंतरि प्रीति पिआरी ॥
Sā ḏẖan sabaḏ suhā▫ī parem kasā▫ī anṯar parīṯ pi▫ārī.
That soul bride is adorned, who is attracted by His Love, and who treasures the Love of her Beloved within her heart.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਈ ਪਿਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਾਹਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
नानक सा धन मेलि लई पिरि आपे साचै साहि सवारी ॥१॥
Nānak sā ḏẖan mel la▫ī pir āpe sācẖai sāhi savārī. ||1||
O Nanak, the Lord blends that soul bride with Himself; the True King adorns her. ||1||
ਨਿਰਗੁਣਵੰਤੜੀਏ ਪਿਰੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਹਦੂਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
निरगुणवंतड़ीए पिरु देखि हदूरे राम ॥
Nirguṇvanṯ▫ṛī▫e pir ḏekẖ haḏūre rām.
O worthless bride, see your Husband Lord ever-present.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਮੁਈਏ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
गुरमुखि जिनी राविआ मुईए पिरु रवि रहिआ भरपूरे राम ॥
Gurmukẖ jinī rāvi▫ā mu▫ī▫e pir rav rahi▫ā bẖarpūre rām.
One who, as Gurmukh, enjoys her Husband Lord, O mortal bride, knows Him to be all-pervading everywhere.
ਪਿਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ਵੇਖੁ ਹਜੂਰੇ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
पिरु रवि रहिआ भरपूरे वेखु हजूरे जुगि जुगि एको जाता ॥
Pir rav rahi▫ā bẖarpūre vekẖ hajūre jug jug eko jāṯā.
The Lord is all-pervading everywhere; behold Him ever-present. Throughout the ages, know Him as the One.
ਧਨ ਬਾਲੀ ਭੋਲੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਰਾਵੈ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
धन बाली भोली पिरु सहजि रावै मिलिआ करम बिधाता ॥
Ḏẖan bālī bẖolī pir sahj rāvai mili▫ā karam biḏẖāṯā.
The young, innocent bride enjoys her Husband Lord; she meets Him, the Architect of karma.
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਿ ਰਹੀ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥
जिनि हरि रसु चाखिआ सबदि सुभाखिआ हरि सरि रही भरपूरे ॥
Jin har ras cẖākẖi▫ā sabaḏ subẖākẖi▫ā har sar rahī bẖarpūre.
One who tastes the sublime essence of the Lord, and utters the sublime Word of the Shabad, remains immersed in the Lord's Ambrosial Pool.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸਾ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਹੈ ਹਦੂਰੇ ॥੨॥
नानक कामणि सा पिर भावै सबदे रहै हदूरे ॥२॥
Nānak kāmaṇ sā pir bẖāvai sabḏe rahai haḏūre. ||2||
O Nanak, that soul bride is pleasing to her Husband Lord, who, through the Shabad, remains in His Presence. ||2||
ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਾਇ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਮੁਈਏ ਜਿਨੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
सोहागणी जाइ पूछहु मुईए जिनी विचहु आपु गवाइआ ॥
Sohāgaṇī jā▫e pūcẖẖahu mu▫ī▫e jinī vicẖahu āp gavā▫i▫ā.
Go and ask the happy soul-brides, O mortal bride, who have eradicated their self-conceit from within.
ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਮੁਈਏ ਜਿਨੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
पिर का हुकमु न पाइओ मुईए जिनी विचहु आपु न गवाइआ ॥
Pir kā hukam na pā▫i▫o mu▫ī▫e jinī vicẖahu āp na gavā▫i▫ā.
Those who have not eradicated their self-conceit, O mortal bride, do not realize the Hukam of their Husband Lord's Command.
ਜਿਨੀ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਤਿਨੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਣੈ ॥
जिनी आपु गवाइआ तिनी पिरु पाइआ रंग सिउ रलीआ माणै ॥
Jinī āp gavā▫i▫ā ṯinī pir pā▫i▫ā rang si▫o ralī▫ā māṇai.
Those who eradicate their self-conceit, obtain their Husband Lord; they delight in His Love.
ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
सदा रंगि राती सहजे माती अनदिनु नामु वखाणै ॥
Saḏā rang rāṯī sėhje māṯī an▫ḏin nām vakẖāṇai.
Ever imbued with His Love, in perfect poise and grace, she repeats His Name, night and day.
ਕਾਮਣਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ ॥
कामणि वडभागी अंतरि लिव लागी हरि का प्रेमु सुभाइआ ॥
Kāmaṇ vadbẖāgī anṯar liv lāgī har kā parem subẖā▫i▫ā.
Very fortunate is that bride, who focuses her consciousness on Him; her Lord's Love is so sweet to her.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਣਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
नानक कामणि सहजे राती जिनि सचु सीगारु बणाइआ ॥३॥
Nānak kāmaṇ sėhje rāṯī jin sacẖ sīgār baṇā▫i▫ā. ||3||
O Nanak, that soul-bride who is adorned with Truth, is imbued with her Lord's Love, in the state of perfect poise. ||3||
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਮੁਈਏ ਤੂ ਚਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਏ ॥
हउमै मारि मुईए तू चलु गुर कै भाए ॥
Ha▫umai mār mu▫ī▫e ṯū cẖal gur kai bẖā▫e.
Overcome your egotism, O mortal bride, and walk in the Guru's Way.
ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਮੁਈਏ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਏ ॥
हरि वरु रावहि सदा मुईए निज घरि वासा पाए ॥
Har var rāvėh saḏā mu▫ī▫e nij gẖar vāsā pā▫e.
Thus you shall ever enjoy your Husband Lord, O mortal bride, and obtain an abode in the home of your own inner being.
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਏ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਏ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
निज घरि वासा पाए सबदु वजाए सदा सुहागणि नारी ॥
Nij gẖar vāsā pā▫e sabaḏ vajā▫e saḏā suhāgaṇ nārī.
Obtaining an abode in the home of her inner being, she vibrates the Word of the Shabad, and is a happy soul-bride forever.
ਪਿਰੁ ਰਲੀਆਲਾ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਬਾਲਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੰਤਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
पिरु रलीआला जोबनु बाला अनदिनु कंति सवारी ॥
Pir ralī▫ālā joban bālā an▫ḏin kanṯ savārī.
The Husband Lord is delightful, and forever young; night and day, He embellishes His bride.
ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੋ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੋ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥
हरि वरु सोहागो मसतकि भागो सचै सबदि सुहाए ॥
Har var sohāgo masṯak bẖāgo sacẖai sabaḏ suhā▫e.
Her Husband Lord activates the destiny written on her forehead, and she is adorned with the True Shabad.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਾ ਚਲੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ ॥੪॥੧॥
नानक कामणि हरि रंगि राती जा चलै सतिगुर भाए ॥४॥१॥
Nānak kāmaṇ har rang rāṯī jā cẖalai saṯgur bẖā▫e. ||4||1||
O Nanak, the soul-bride is imbued with the Love of the Lord, when she walks according to the Will of the True Guru. ||4||1||

ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਰ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੀ ਮੁਈਏ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੀ ਨਾਰੇ ॥
Let yourself be imbued with the Love of your Husband Lord, O beautiful, mortal bride.
ਨੀ ਮਰਨੀਏ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪਤਨੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੰਗੀਜੀ ਰਹੁ।
ਪਿਰ = ਪਤੀ। ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ = ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ। ਰਤੀ = ਰੰਗੀ ਹੋਈ। ਮੁਈਏ = ਹੇ ਮੁਈਏ! ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਅਛੋਹ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੀਏ! ਨਾਰੇ = ਹੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਏ!
ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਅਛੋਹ ਹੋ ਚੁਕੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹੈਂ।
ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀ ਮੁਈਏ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
Let yourself remain merged in the True Word of the Shabad, O mortal bride; savor and enjoy the Love of your Beloved Husband Lord.
ਨੀ ਫਾਨੀ ਪਤਨੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀ ਰਹੁ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਾਡਲੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਣ ਲਵੇਗੀ।
ਸਚੈ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ। ਸਬਦਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਰਾਵੇ = ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਭਾਇ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਕੰਤਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥
The Husband Lord embellishes His beloved bride with His True Love; she is in love with the Lord, Har, Har.
ਜਿਹੜੀ ਦਿਲਬਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਤਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੰਤਿ = ਕੰਤ ਨੇ। ਸਿਉ = ਨਾਲ। ਨੇਹੁ = ਪਿਆਰ।
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ, ਨੇਹੁ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
Renouncing her self-centeredness, she attains her Husband Lord, and remains merged in the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਜਦ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੁ = ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ।
ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
ਸਾ ਧਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਸਾਈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
That soul bride is adorned, who is attracted by His Love, and who treasures the Love of her Beloved within her heart.
ਐਸੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨੇ ਖਿੱਚਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਲਾਡਲੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਾ ਧਨ = ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ। ਸੁਹਾਈ = ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ। ਕਸਾਈ = ਖਿੱਚੀ ਹੋਈ। ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਸਾਈ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚੀ ਹੋਈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਈ ਪਿਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਾਹਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
O Nanak, the Lord blends that soul bride with Himself; the True King adorns her. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ, ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚਾ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਿਰਿ = ਪਿਰ ਨੇ {ਨੋਟ: ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਪਿਰ', 'ਪਿਰੁ' ਅਤੇ 'ਪਿਰਿ' ਦੇ ਵਿਆਕਰਣਿਕ ਅਰਥ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਰੱਖੋ}। ਸਾਹਿ = ਸ਼ਾਹਿ, ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਨਿਰਗੁਣਵੰਤੜੀਏ ਪਿਰੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਹਦੂਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
O worthless bride, see your Husband Lord ever-present.
ਹੇ ਗੁਣ ਵਿਹੂਣ ਸੁਆਣੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਐਨ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ-ਨਾਜਰ ਵੇਖ।
ਨਿਰਗੁਣਵੰਤੜੀਏ = ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਹਦੂਰੇ = ਹਾਜ਼ਰ-ਨਾਜ਼ਰ, ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ।
ਹੇ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਣ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਮੁਈਏ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
One who, as Gurmukh, enjoys her Husband Lord, O mortal bride, knows Him to be all-pervading everywhere.
ਨੀ ਮਰਨੀਏ ਲਾੜੀਏ! ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਲਾੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵੇਖਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ। ਰਾਵਿਆ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਇਆ। ਮੁਈਏ = ਹੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਰਹੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ = ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
ਹੇ ਮੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁੱਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪੱਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਿਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ਵੇਖੁ ਹਜੂਰੇ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
The Lord is all-pervading everywhere; behold Him ever-present. Throughout the ages, know Him as the One.
ਸਾਈਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਜ਼ਰ ਦੇਖ। ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਜੈਸਾ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰ।
ਹਜੂਰੇ = ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ। ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ = ਹਰੇਕ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ। ਏਕੋ = ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ। ਜਾਤਾ = ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ।
ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਜ਼ਰ ਦੇਖ ਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਯੁਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ।
ਧਨ ਬਾਲੀ ਭੋਲੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਰਾਵੈ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
The young, innocent bride enjoys her Husband Lord; she meets Him, the Architect of karma.
ਜੁਆਨ ਨਿਰ-ਅਪਰਾਧ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਲਭਧ ਬਨਾਉਣਹਾਰ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਧਨ = ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ। ਬਾਲੀ = ਬਾਲ-ਸੁਭਾਵ ਵਾਲੀ। ਭੋਲੀ = ਭੋਲੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਵਾਲੀ। ਸਹਜਿ = ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ। ਕਰਮ ਵਿਧਾਤਾ = ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ।
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਲ-ਭੋਲੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਿ ਰਹੀ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥
One who tastes the sublime essence of the Lord, and utters the sublime Word of the Shabad, remains immersed in the Lord's Ambrosial Pool.
ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਮਈ ਤਾਲਾਬ ਅੰਦਰ ਡੁਬੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ ਨੇ। ਸਬਦਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ = ਉਚਾਰਿਆ, ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ। ਹਰਿ ਸਰਿ = ਹਰੀ-ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਹ ਸਰੋਵਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਚੁੱਭੀ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸਾ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਹੈ ਹਦੂਰੇ ॥੨॥
O Nanak, that soul bride is pleasing to her Husband Lord, who, through the Shabad, remains in His Presence. ||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸੱਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਮਣਿ = ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ। ਸਾ = ਉਹ {ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਲਿੰਗ}। ਪਿਰ ਭਾਵੈ = ਪਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਾਇ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਮੁਈਏ ਜਿਨੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
Go and ask the happy soul-brides, O mortal bride, who have eradicated their self-conceit from within.
ਨੀ ਮਰ-ਵੰਞਣੀਏ! ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਰ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਮੇਟ ਛੱਡੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ = ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਾਇ = ਜਾ ਕੇ। ਮੁਈਏ = ਹੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਰਹੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਆਪੁ = ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ।
ਹੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਰਹੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਜਾ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ) ਸੁਹਾਗਣਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ (ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ) ਪੁੱਛ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਮੁਈਏ ਜਿਨੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
Those who have not eradicated their self-conceit, O mortal bride, do not realize the Hukam of their Husband Lord's Command.
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਰਦੀਆਂ, ਨੀ ਮਰਜਾਣੀਏ! ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ।

ਪਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ (ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਨ ਦੀ ਜਾਚ) ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿੱਖੀ।
ਜਿਨੀ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਤਿਨੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਣੈ ॥
Those who eradicate their self-conceit, obtain their Husband Lord; they delight in His Love.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਵਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਮਾਣਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ = ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ।
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
Ever imbued with His Love, in perfect poise and grace, she repeats His Name, night and day.
ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਰੰਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਮਤਵਾਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਈ, ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਰੰਗਿ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ। ਰਾਤੀ = ਰੰਗੀ ਹੋਈ। ਸਹਜੇ = ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ। ਮਾਤੀ = ਮਸਤ। ਅਨਦਿਨੁ = ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ।
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਮਣਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ ॥
Very fortunate is that bride, who focuses her consciousness on Him; her Lord's Love is so sweet to her.
ਭਾਰੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਤਨੀ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਭਾਇਆ = ਪਸੰਦ ਆਇਆ।
ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਣਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
O Nanak, that soul-bride who is adorned with Truth, is imbued with her Lord's Love, in the state of perfect poise. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੱਚ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਸਨੇਹ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ ਨੇ। ਸਚੁ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਮੁਈਏ ਤੂ ਚਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਏ ॥
Overcome your egotism, O mortal bride, and walk in the Guru's Way.
ਆਪਣਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰ, ਨੀ ਮਰਨ ਜੋਗੀਏ ਨਾਰੇ! ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਟੁਰ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਏ = ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ।
ਹੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ) ਮੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਜੀਵਨ-ਤੋਰ) ਤੁਰ।
ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਮੁਈਏ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਏ ॥
Thus you shall ever enjoy your Husband Lord, O mortal bride, and obtain an abode in the home of your own inner being.
ਨੀ ਮਰਜਾਣੀਏ! ਐਕੁਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਾਣੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸੇਬਾ ਪਾ ਲਵੇਗੀ।
ਵਰੁ = ਖਸਮ। ਰਾਵਹਿ = ਤੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਏਂਗੀ। ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ = ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸਲ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ। ਪਾਏ = ਪਾਇ, ਪਾ ਕੇ।
ਮੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਇੰਜ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਰਹੇਂਗੀ।
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਏ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਏ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
Obtaining an abode in the home of her inner being, she vibrates the Word of the Shabad, and is a happy soul-bride forever.
ਆਪਣੇ ਧਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ, ਲਈ ਖੁਸ਼ਬਾਸ ਪਤਨੀ ਥੀ ਵੰਞਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਵਜਾਏ = ਵਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਵਸਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਿਰੁ ਰਲੀਆਲਾ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਬਾਲਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੰਤਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
The Husband Lord is delightful, and forever young; night and day, He embellishes His bride.
ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪਤੀ ਰਲਿਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਲੀਆਲਾ = ਰਲੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਘਰ, ਆਨੰਦ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ। ਬਾਲਾ = ਜਵਾਨ। ਕੰਤਿ = ਕੰਤ ਨੇ। ਅਨਦਿਨੁ = ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼।
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਜੋ ਆਨੰਦ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਜੋਬਨ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਨੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੋ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੋ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥
Her Husband Lord activates the destiny written on her forehead, and she is adorned with the True Shabad.
ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਤ, ਅਮਰ ਹਰੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਦੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੰਗਾਰੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਸਤਕਿ = ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ।
ਇੰਜ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਹਾਗ ਮਿਲਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਾ ਚਲੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ ॥੪॥੧॥
O Nanak, the soul-bride is imbued with the Love of the Lord, when she walks according to the Will of the True Guru. ||4||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਦ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਟੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਮਣਿ = ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ। ਰੰਗਿ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ॥੪॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥
